2015 Buick Encore Earns 5-Star Overall Safety Rating from NHTSA
The 2015 Buick Encore—in both the front- and all-wheel-drive formats—scored a perfect five-star Overall Vehicle Score from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), meaning that Buick’s entire 2015 model year lineup is five-star safety certified.
“Consumers are consistently surprised to discover Encore provides the characteristics they expect in our larger offerings – style, sophistication, connectivity and comfort,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president of Buick. “NHTSA’s evaluation affirms Encore lives up to Buick’s safety reputation.”
The 2015 Encore managed five-star scores in both the side barrier and side pole tests, as well as in the frontal barrier crash test. It scored four stars in the rollover test, displaying a 19.8% chance for rollover in the event of a crash.
Additional safety features—including available rear cross traffic alert, side blind zone alert systems, front- and rear-park assist, forward collision alert, and lane departure warning—were also recommended for optimum safety.
Additionally, the 2015 Verano, Regal, LaCrosse, and Enclave are all recipients of the five-star Overall Vehicle Score, making Buick a perfect five-for-five in the New Car Assessment Program.
