The 2015 Kia Forte compact sedan was awarded a five-star safety rating by the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA), an improvement over the four-star rating that was earned by the 2014 model. Kia stated that minor revisions to the Forte led to the improved rating.

Those slight changes included stronger A-pillars and lower side-sills, which helped the Forte improve its score on the front crash rating to four stars (up from three stars in 2014). The base Forte still comes with a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 148 horsepower and 131 lb-ft of torque. Customers looking for a bit more power can opt for the 2.0-liter four-cylinder, which has 174 horsepower and 154 lb-ft of torque.
