There are plenty of reasons to be excited about this week’s SEMA Show, but one of the foremost causes for excitement should be the 2015 Mustang RTR, which is being put together by a team headed by Ford Racing’s Vaughn Gittin Jr.
Gittin Jr., who is also trotting out one of the two customized F-150 that Ford hopes will allow them to win a fifth straight Hottest Truck Award, founded RTR as a part of his mission to “introduce something new to the Mustang world that appeals not only to younger generations, but also to any traditional muscle car enthusiasts and overall automotive enthusiasts as a whole.”
While we will have to wait until Monday for the full reveal of the 2015 Mustang RTR, we have a pair of teasers to work with for the time being.
The first gives us a distant look at the silhouettes of the Mustang RTR Spec 2 and Spec 5 Concept, which indicate builds based on the 2015 Mustang GT and Mustang EcoBoost.
The second teaser gives a clear look at the Mustang RTR’s redesigned front fascia, which includes a more powerful hood, a front chin spoiler, and new LED halo lights.
We’ll get the full look at the 2015 Mustang RTR on Monday, hopefully alongside full performance specs. The Mustang RTR is expected to arrive at dealerships (yes, you can buy this thing) in January.
