2015 Nissan JUKE Unveiled at 2014 Geneva Motor Show
If there’s one thing that you can say for certain about Nissan’s JUKE crossover, it’s that it is bold enough to understand that it’s better to evoke some kind of reaction rather than it is to be forgettable. The JUKE has a design that people either love or hate, but it’s a design that has always served the purpose of getting people to talk. Fortunately, Nissan understands this, which is why we’re happy to report that the 2015 Nissan JUKE is keeping it crazy.
Last week at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, Nissan Executive Vice President and Chief Planning Officer Andy Palmer took the stage between three JUKES.
“Today, we bring to you the latest developments in the Nissan brand renaissance. A renaissance that is being led by design and fueled by performance and innovation. Proof of our progress is right here in these Nissan JUKES. A true segment pioneer, JUKE offers drivers and emotionally-satisfying small, efficient car with tons of personality.”
The 2015 Nissan JUKE benefits from a refreshed design that largely keeps the unique face for which the crossover is famous while adding new, sportier design cues inside and out.
The JUKE’s headlamps are redesigned, the front grille sports the new Nissan brand signature, and both the front and rear bumpers are gifted with more aggressive styling. The 2015 Nissan JUKE will be available in ten colors, including three new hues: Sunlight Yellow metallic, Ink Blue metallic, and Red.
The interior will sport a center console that draws inspiration from motorbikes, and a number of design personalization packs ensure that owners are only limited by their imaginations.
Perhaps most exciting (at least for the European market, as specs for the North American models will be detailed in the future) is the three engine lineup. The 2015 Nissan JUKE will have the option of coming equipped with a 1.2-liter DIG-T turbocharged direct injected engine, the 1.6-liter DIG-T (also available in 4WD format), and a 1.5-liter dCi diesel engine.
The new JUKE will hit Europe this summer, with a likely U.S. rollout to follow. We want to hear from you: are you happy that the JUKE is keeping its unique style, or could it stand to be a bit more conventional looking?
