2016 Mitsubishi i-MiEV Performance
A 49-kilowatt electric motor works together with a 16-kWh lithium-ion battery pack, powering the i-MiEV with ease. The electric motor generates 66 horsepower and 145 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels. There are three driving modes for the i-MiEV—D for full power, Eco for limited power and maximum fuel efficiency, and B to increase regenerative braking.
The i-MiEV’s onboard charger takes 14-22 hours to reach a full charge when plugged into a 120-volt household outlet. With a SAE Level 2 charging station, the EPA estimates a charging time of seven hours.

Currently, this electric car boasts a driving range of an EPA-estimated 62 miles per charge. The EPA has also assigned the i-MiEV an energy consumption estimate of 30 kWh per 100 miles, which is similar to its competitors.
