2018 Dodge Charger Overview

While the Dodge Challenger might be the brand’s most often-discussed model, it is routinely outsold by its smaller cousin: the Dodge Charger. The Charger offers a similar drive and performance, only for a significantly smaller pricetag.

Although the Charger has consistently been regarded as a strong performance model, it hasn’t exactly earned that same reputation in regards to in-vehicle technology. That’s all set to change with the 2018 Dodge Charger, which sees some major improvements and additions to its technology lineup across the board.

2018 Dodge Charger Performance

Though the Dodge Challenger may be regarded as the brand’s premier performance model, the Charger certainly doesn’t slack in this area either. Right from the start, the Charger’s standard 2.6-liter Pentastar® V6 engine produces an impressive 292 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque.

Of course, the only real engine choice for adrenaline junkies is the 6.2-liter HEMI® SRT Supercharged Hellcat V8. Generating 707 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque, the Hellcat powertrain is practically unmatched by any other in the industry.

2018 Dodge Charger Efficiency

As far as full-size sports sedans go, the Charger’s standard 19/30/23 MPG City/Highway/Combined fuel economy isn’t half bad. Still, if drivers are used to more efficient rides, then they should be prepared to make more frequent stops to the gas pump, should they choose the Dodge Charger.

Front and rear climate control outlets create comfortable surroundings throughout the cabin, while available features like a leather-wrapped heated steering wheel only add to the model’s luxurious feel.

As previously stated, the latest Dodge Charger also receives a major technology boost. With the addition of a new seven-inch touchscreen display and features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the 2018 Dodge Charger is a vision of the future for the entire Dodge brand.
