2018 Nissan Rogue Hybrid

Hybrid vehicles have come a long way since their inception. Their performance, exterior style, interior amenities, and advanced technology have improved, in addition to their impressive fuel efficiency ratings, meaning hybrids either rival or surpass non-hybrid options. Of course, in the past the benefits of the eco-friendly drivetrain often came at a high price, but that is no longer the case as more automakers are producing and improving their own hybrid options. The editors at U.S. News & World Report just rounded up the 12 Cheapest Hybrid Cars, and it’s no surprise the stunning, high-performing, and budget-friendly 2018 Nissan Rogue Hybrid made the cut.

“The Nissan Rogue is one of America’s top-selling SUVs,” said U.S. News & World Report writer Eileen Falkenberg-Hull. “Its hybrid variant, the Rogue Hybrid, is more fuel-efficient than its gasoline-powered sister but carries over much of what buyers like about the Rogue. It delivers a smooth ride, has a high-quality cabin, and attains high safety ratings.”

The 2018 Rogue Hybrid comes with two trim options — SV and SL — and impressive fuel efficiency ratings of 35 mpg on the highway, 34 mpg combined, and 33 mpg in the city for models equipped with front-wheel drive. All-wheel drive-equipped models earn drivers a fuel efficiency rating of 31 mpg in the city, 34 mpg on the highway, and 33 mpg combined.

The sophisticated hybrid powertrain employs an Idle Start/Stop system and Intelligent Regenerative Braking system to further protect the Rogue Hybrid’s remarkable fuel efficiency. The eco-friendly model features the combined power of a compact lithium-ion battery with one-motor, two-clutch control and a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. The hybrid system is rated at 176 horsepower.
