The 2019 Kia Forte hit the market primed to become the top vehicle in its segment with a lower starting price and better warranty than the competition and a ton of style and smarts. Its claim to being top of the crop is now supported by a shiny new trophy as the 2019 Forte has earned the MotorWeek Drivers’ Choice Award for Best Small Car.

With the 2019 Forte, Kia has taken an already excellent small car approach and added more space, more technology, and dynamic styling,” said John Davis, creator and host of MotorWeek. “The end result is a great-looking, highly affordable car that we think is also the most enjoyable daily driver in its size class.”

MotorWeek lauds the new Forte for its European-flavored styling, new technologies, improved interior comfort, and everyday drivability. Influenced by the ever-popular Kia Stinger, the Forte is athletically proportioned and aerodynamic outside with a clean, driver- and passenger-oriented interior that emphasizes space and refinement. Standard features include an 8-inch touch-screen display with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay capabilities, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist and Forward Collision Warning, Driver Attention Warning, and Lane Keeping Assist-Line.

The Forte is powered by a 2.0-liter Atkinson Cycle inline four-cylinder engine that offers plenty of pep with 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque as well as upwards of 41 mpg on the highway with the available Intelligent Variable Transmission.

The Forte also earned the first-ever Southwest Lifestyle Vehicle of the Year award in November.
