In the first-ever Edmunds Editors’ Choice Awards, the Lincoln Navigator drove away with the title of Best Luxury SUV. With the stated purpose of finding the luxury SUV that delivers “comfort, quality and capability beyond the norm, with an added dose of desirability,” the editors at Edmunds determined that no other luxury SUV does it better than the Navigator.

In its review, Edmunds gave the Navigator an 8.4 out of 10, saying: “Here’s all you really need to know: The 2019 Lincoln Navigator is one of our favorite luxury SUVs. Last year’s redesign enhanced the Navigator’s already impressive capability to carry people and tow heavy loads. It also ushered in fresh styling and new features. This new Lincoln is at the head of the class against its American counterparts and likely earns front-row status with valet attendants, too.”
Edmunds’ review also points out how nice the Navigator looks next to competitor brands like Mercedes-Benz and Land Rover. That makes even more sense given how 55 percent of Navigator sales are conquests from those brands as well as Cadillac and other luxury marques.
The 2019 Edmunds Editors’ Choice Awards were determined through the evaluation of 27 criteria, including driving and performance, comfort, interior, utility, technology, fun factor, and value.
The redesigned Lincoln Navigator is no stranger to major awards. Among others, it was named the 2018 North American Truck of the Year and placed on the Wards 10 Best User Experiences List.
