New Year’s Eve Fireworks & Cherry Drop
Each year, the Sister Bay community says goodbye to the old year with fireworks and a cherry drop. Enjoy ice skating and a bonfire at the Sports Complex, then immerse yourself in music from local radio station FM 106.9 The Lodge from 10:30 p.m. through midnight, when an oversized, illuminated cherry drops to signal the new year’s arrival.
FANCY New Year’s Celebration
Get a head start on cultivating a more outward-focused life in 2020 when you attend HotelRED’s New Year’s Celebration in Madison. All proceeds from the event go to local nonprofit REACH-a-Child, which donates books to first responders in the area. The books help comfort children rescued from crises.
New Year’s Eve Chilly/Chili Run/Walk
Warm up with a brisk run and a cup of chili when you participate in the Fond du Lac Running Club’s annual 5K. The entry fee includes chili and food, as well as beverages. There’s even a half-mile kids run to help young ones cultivate a passion for the sport. Race-day registration opens at 2:30 on Dec. 31. Check out the event’s website for more information.
New Year’s Eve Pajama Party
For a casual, family-friendly celebration, head to Inventors Brewpub in Port Washington for the New Year’s Eve Pajama Party on Dec. 31. Activities kick off at 6 p.m. and run through midnight. Keep busy with games and enjoy age-appropriate toasts (champagne for the adults and sparkling soda for children), while staying cozy in pajamas. The event also has two earlier ball drops at 10 and 11 p.m., so young ones can still enjoy the event but get home and hit the sack at a decent hour.
