Ford, Lincoln Pick Up IHS Markit Automotive Loyalty Awards
Ford Motor Company was awarded the 2016 IHS Markit Automotive Loyalty Award on Tuesday during the Automotive News World Congress meeting at the Marriott Hotel in Detroit. Ford was determined to be the award-winner by virtue of having the highest loyalty rate among customers for its 2016 Ford and Lincoln lineup.
The annual Automotive Loyalty Awards span 30 different categories covering vehicles in numerous segments, as well as for brands and automakers. In addition to winning the Overall Loyalty to Make award, Ford Motor Company also earned the award for highest Ethnic Loyalty to Make. This award is given to the automaker that achieves the highest level of loyalty among customers from varying ethnic groups; Ford’s vehicles boasted the highest loyalty among African-American consumers of any automaker.

“We are proud to recognize so many loyalty leaders in the automotive industry,” said Joe LaFeir, senior vice president, automotive, IHS Markit. “Our Automotive Loyalty Awards program highlights the ongoing successes of automakers and brands that continue to win back customers in this hyper-competitive environment.”
In addition to the awards for brand loyalty, Ford vehicles earned honors in the Segment Model Loyalty Awards. The new Lincoln MKX, which helped lead the brand to significant sales gains over 2015, topped the Luxury Mid-Size Crossover Category. The Lincoln MKZ, which was recently replaced by the all-new 2017 model, earned the top prize in the Luxury Traditional Compact Car Category. Unsurprisingly, America’s best-selling truck for 40 years in a row, the F-Series, was named the top truck in the Non-Luxury Full-Size Three-Quarter to One-Ton Pickup Category.
