Differences between the 2020 Nissan Armada and the 2020 Pathfinder
Upon first glance, the 2020 Nissan Armada and the 2020 Nissan Pathfinder share some similarities — they’re both three-row SUVs that offer plenty of space, seating, and convenience features. However, the two models have their fair share of differences when it comes to space and available features. Here’s a look at what sets the Armada apart from the Pathfinder.

Performance and efficiency
Between the two models, the Armada’s powertrain packs the bigger punch. Its 5.6-liter V8 pumps out 390 horsepower, 394 lb-ft of torque, and delivers a maximum towing capacity of 8,500 pounds. As you’d expect from a powerhouse of an SUV, it earns 19 mpg on the highway, 14 in the city, and 16 combined.
The Pathfinder, on the other hand, sacrifices a little power for efficiency. The 3.5-liter V6 engine delivers an appreciable 284 horsepower and 259 lb-ft of torque alongside a maximum towing capacity of 6,000 pounds. It nets 27 mpg on the highway, 23 combined and 20 in the city.
If you’re looking for a little more grip on the road, choose either SUV — both models offer four-wheel drive.
Interior features
Between the two SUVs, the Armada is the more spacious model. It can seat up to eight people across three rows. Behind the third row, it has 16.5 cubic feet of cargo space. However, thanks to its fold-flat seating, that space can easily expand to 49.9 cubic feet or a maximum of 95.4 cubic feet, with both backseat rows flattened. The Armada also offers a little more comfort, with standard heated front seats and climate-controlled front seats on Platinum and Platinum Reserve models.
On the other hand, the Pathfinder seats seven passengers. Behind the third row, it boasts 16.2 cubic feet, and 47.4 cubic feet behind the second row, making it comparable to the Armada. However, you can fold down the second row to open up 79.5 cubic feet of cargo room. That’s significantly less than the Armada, so if you need to haul large, bulky items, the Armada may be better suited to your needs. However, if you plan on keeping the passenger seats in place, you’ll have a comparable amount of room for cargo.
The Pathfinder also offers luxuries at higher trim levels. You’ll find heated front seats on the SL trim level and above, while climate-controlled front seats are only offered on the top trim and above.

Technology
The Nissan Armada is truly a high-tech family hauler. This SUV boasts a standard 13-speaker audio system, four or five USB ports depending on the trim level, and a standard Tri-Zone Entertainment System on the Platinum and Platinum Reserve trim levels. This system boasts dual 8-inch monitors, a DVD player with a remote control, two pairs of wireless headphones, and an HDMI input.
The Pathfinder’s upper trim levels don’t come standard with the Tri-Zone Entertainment System and its accessories, although you can opt to include them. It also makes the 13-speaker audio system available as an option, instead of a standard feature.
