“Nissan Energy Solar is a complete system for home energy generation, management and storage,” said Gareth Dunsmore, Electric Vehicle director, Nissan Europe. “It enables UK homeowners to make significant savings on their household electricity bills, and become champions of sustainability and green technology. More than 880,000 people in the UK already use solar panels and this fully integrated solution brings a fresh opportunity to grow this number exponentially over the coming years.”
Nissan Energy Solar is an all-in-one solution that integrates three energy sources — battery storage (xStorage Home), solar panels, and a home energy management system.
According to Nissan, Nissan Energy Solar reduces household electricity bills up to approximately 66%*; allows management, storage, and generation of energy to be used to charge Nissan electric vehicles; and it breaks UK customers’ dependence on electricity providers and the national grid.
Nissan Solar Energy is the latest addition to the automaker’s suite of Intelligent Mobility Technologies, which includes the semi-autonomous technology of ProPILOT Assist, which “is a hands-on driver-assist system that helps drivers stay centered in their lane, navigate stop-and-go-traffic and maintain a set vehicle speed and distance to the vehicle ahead.”
