It’s never a good idea to judge a book by its cover because you might miss out on a fantastic story. In the automotive world, sometimes extreme design elements cause drivers to dismiss a vehicle based on looks alone. This would be a definite mistake if you judge the 2020 Chevy Silverado HD by its all-new towing mirrors.

The distinct and somewhat oversized mirrors, which boast a “larger surface area,” according to GM Authority writer Michelle Marus, will be a truck driver’s best friend, especially when the Silverado HD is used to tow.

The mirrors are also equipped with a four-bar-link system, which allows for easy adjustment, and the forward-facing spot lamp, a new feature on each mirror, will help you see in the dark, whether you’re camping or working. Adjusting the mirrors is even easier when you opt for the available power extension feature.

A side view is now possible thanks to the mirrors embedded side-view cameras.

“The mirrors also offer mirror-mounted puddle lamps and two rear-facing spot lamps as options,” adds Marus.

You’ll also gain more light around the perimeter of the formidable truck.

“GM’s Perimeter Lighting System is available on both the Silverado and Sierra to illuminate the truck’s bed and nearby spaces to help owners see their truck and surrounding area in poorly-lit conditions. This component proves especially helpful in dark worksites, driveways, and camping grounds,” adds Marus.
