BMW 360 Electric Portfolio Makes Switch to EV E-Z
Deciding to box up your gasoline-powered car and replace it with a glossy plug-in hybrid or electric car can be a difficult decision—along with a change in the amount of money you spend on gas, it also requires a complete overhaul of your driving habits. BMW has taken this into consideration and has elected to stop any hesitation prospective customers might have in this regard by creating the BMW 360 Electric portfolio, a plethora of services aimed at making the transition from gasoline-powered vehicles to electric easier than ever before.
Along with offering a wall mounted SAE J1772-compliant connector able to recharge an i3 electric car in three hours and an i8 hybrid in an hour and a half, the German automaker is also offering free in-home consultation on the best way to install your charger. A deal between BMW and SolarCity, a solar-panel installer, also gets drivers a 10% discount on rooftop solar systems starting next year.

BMW 360 Electric will also enable BMW drivers to use ChargeNow cards, which can be used at SharePoint’s network of 14,000 charging stations. The ConnectedDrive on-board navigation system allows drivers to locate public charging stations.
The BMW i3 and i8 will go on sale in the US next year with the i3 starting with a price tag of $41,000 while the i8 will sell for $136,000. The German automaker is hoping that its BMW 360 Electric portfolio will encourage those uncertain about making to switch to take the leap at last.
