Cadillac to Launch DockSpot for Select Models
Word on the street (one paved by GM Authority) is that General Motors will be launching DockSpot on the 2015 Cadillac ATS and the 2015 Cadillac CTS sedans. For those of you who don’t remember, DockSpot is GM’s inductive phone charging system which was originally supposed to appear on the 2012 Chevy Volt but for some reason did not make it to market.

The information comes from dealership order guides, which have begun to show DockSpot availability. These order guides do not mention the Chevy Volt, but it is very possible that the Volt and the ELR may be offered with the inductive charging system, as the Volt was previously supposed to be available with it.
Inductive charging allows smartphones to charge their batteries simply by placing them in a designated area, usually in a spot on the center console. No wires are necessary.
We will fill you in on more details as they arrive.
