Cadillac President: Cadillac CT6 Will Arrive in December

Cadillac President, Johan de Nysschen, confirms that the Cadillac CT6 will arrive in December

Following his presentation of the beastly 2016 CTS-V this morning, Freep caught up with Cadillac President, Johan de Nysschen, who shed a little bit of light on when we can expect to see the CT6 sedan in showrooms around America.

According to the man in charge of the world’s fastest-growing full-line luxury automaker, we’ll get our first full-on look at the CT6 in April at the 2015 New York International Auto Show (as we expected), and it will begin arriving at the end of the year.

So we now know for sure when we’ll see the CT6 in the flesh and we have a pretty good idea when we’ll be able to buy it. Now there’s just the matter of figuring out just what in the hell we’re getting to begin with.

The CT6 was officially named as the top-of-the-range model back in September, and we since found out that it would be built on the RWD Omega platform at Detroit-Hamtramck, that production would start sometime later this year, and that it would get a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine paired with an eight-speed automatic.

Apart from that, there’s little in the way of a consistent image of what we’ll be seeing. Some reports suggest that there will be a plug-in hybrid version. We heard that it would be based on the Elmiraj concept, then we heard it would look more like Cadillac’s current generation of vehicles. Mark Reuss said it wouldn’t have an aluminum body, then another (unnamed source) said that it would be aluminum.

In short, apart from that 1) it’s being made 2) it’s called the CT6 and 3) it’ll go on sale around the end of the year, all we know is that we’ll probably need to wait until April to know most of the big important details for sure.
