Cadillac SRX Rebounds in June US Sales
Sales of Cadillac vehicles in the United States were down 3.1% in June as nearly every model in the lineup saw year-over-year sales decreases. The lone Cadillac to achieve sales gains in June was the SRX, which also maintained its position as the brand’s best-seller.
Cadillac sold 5,746 SRX vehicles in June, up 23.5% from 4,652 units sold in June 2014 and good for the model’s best June ever. Through the first six months of 2015, the SRX has been Cadillac’s biggest bread-winner by far with a total of 30,207 units sold in the United States.
The Escalade and Escalade ESV, both of which had benefitted from considerable interest thanks to consumer interest in SUVs, were down in June with sales of 1,522 units and 992 units, respectively. To date, both have sold considerably better than through the first six months of 2014; the Escalade is up 48.6% with 9,910 units sold while the Escalade ESV is up 71.4% with 6,401 units sold.
Both the ATS and CTS continued to slump in June. Total ATS sales were down 6.2% in June at 2,211 units, and the CTS was down 29.4% with 1,535 units. Both are down by double digits through six months, victims of an increasing shift away from sedans and coupes.
Sales of the ELR were down 36.1% in June, and sales of the XTS were down 14.5%.
