Camping is boring. Wet, cold, uncomfortable, and boring…that is, until lifestyle vehicle tuner John Pangilinan decided to re-envision camping.
The South California genius used a 2016 Hyundai Tucson as his canvas for his idea of extreme outdoor adventures. Outfitting the SUV with a Treeline Tamarack rooftop tent and Goal Zero solar panels, this special Tucson has become the “Adventuremobile.” Does it look weird with a tent sitting on its head? Admittedly…but practical doesn’t always mean pretty.

This Hyundai “Adventuremobile” is ready for any outdoor obstacle. With accessories powered by solar panels, beefy Aries bull bar and side steps, and a 1.5-inch suspension lift, it can conquer any terrain. The Toyo Open Country A/T II tires provide extra tread, and the BASF army green appearance offers some thematic design.
Powertrain modifications to the Adventuremobile Tucson include Magnaflow Exhaust system, Lucas Oil, and AEM Intake/Charge Pipe Kit. Other additions include Wilwood Custom Fabricated Brake Kit, Thule Aeroblade & Kits, special LED lights, Katzkin custom leather upholstery, Truck Vault Storage with Trekpak System, and an audio system by BP Auto Sound.
“Designed with the weekend adventurer in mind, the Tucson was the perfect platform for an ‘Adventuremobile,'” said John Pangilinan. “The build blends performance with the excitement of the great outdoors, without sacrificing daily usability. The vehicle promotes exploration, making it ideal for the daily commute, weekend excursions, and the occasional road trip.”
