Get ready for new and improved versions of the already-impressive Lexus RX and RXL lineup of luxury crossovers. Set to debut in late 2019 in both Canada and the United States, these models boast tons of the latest safety equipment and connectivity technology. Here’s a look at what’s new on the 2020 Lexus RX and RXL.

Technological upgrades

The 2020 Lexus RX and RXL are set to be the first Lexus models that support Android Auto. These models also sport a touch screen that’s been moved 5.5 inches closer. Plus, you can now use this touch screen to control both audio and climate systems, or use the display to view the feed from the rear backup camera. You can also opt for Dynamic Voice Command, which recognizes millions of phrases and offers improved accuracy and point-of-interest suggestions.

Exterior and interior enhancements

Choose from two new exterior colors on the 2020 Lexus RX and RXL: Moonbeam Beige Metallic and Nori Green Pearl. The model also offers two new wheel designs, an 18-inch and a 20-inch, as well as a new interior color option, Birch. If you’re looking to add even more pizazz to your Lexus, you’ll have some other new options. The RX 350 F Sport will be split into F Sport appearance package and Performance package, so you can customize your car to your desires. Both packages add a unique a steering wheel and shifter, aluminum pedals and trim, a signature grille and bumpers, 20-inch wheels, front and rear performance dampers, and LED ambient lighting. However, if you’re looking for adaptive variable suspension, vehicle dynamics integrated management, electric sport power steering, a moonroof,  and heated and ventilated seats, you’ll have to get the Performance package.

Safety features

Now, every Lexus RX and RXL will come standard with Safety System+ 2.0. It adds a wealth of smart features designed to keep you safe — and to protect other road users. It boasts daytime bicyclist detection, low-light pedestrian detection, along with road-sign assist and lane-tracing assist. These smart features work in concert with Dynamic Radar Cruise Control to take the stress out of your daily drive.
