Plenty has already been written about the upcoming Corvette C8’s engine. Powered by a mid-engine powertrain, the Chevrolet Corvette C8 is set to stray away from the more traditional engine setups that its predecessors have utilized over the years.

Less has been revealed about the Corvette C8’s other components. Still, new footage of the Corvette C8 indicates that the vehicle will utilize some high-tech headlights.

Up to this point, spy shots of the C8 only either had the vehicle’s headlights blocked out or replaced by a placeholder headlight design. Still, according to the new footage obtained by GM authority, Chevy has moved on to testing the new headlights.

The new headlights feature an all-LED light cluster bearing a bright blue hue. Perhaps even more striking is the design of the headlights themselves.

These new headlights are defined by a striking look and sleek lines. This is much akin to the overall design of the Chevrolet Corvette C8.

The outgoing iteration of the Corvette, the C7, came equipped with High-Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamps with Xenon lighting and LED parking lights. While the Xenon-powered lights were plenty bright, they did come with their own share of drawbacks.

On the other hand, LED lights tend to last longer than Xenon-based lights. They are also ever-so-slightly brighter, making driving at night an even safer task.

The 2020 Chevrolet Corvette C8 is set to make its official debut later this summer. At that time, we’ll get an ever better look at this new sports model and its bright lights.
