This past weekend saw the kickoff of the BIG Motor Sale 2017 in Thailand, whereat Chevrolet will be displaying its SUVs and trucks in an effort to rope in long-time enthusiasts and new fans alike. To celebrate the occasion properly, Chevrolet Thailand revealed what it calls the new “crown jewel” of its lineup: the Trailblazer Z71, to which Chevy refers as “the most refined vehicle in Chevrolet’s SUV lineup in Thailand.”
“Chevrolet truly embodies the ‘I CARE’ philosophy,” said Vanchana Unakul, General Director of Engineering, General Motors Thailand and Southeast Asia. “We are focused on delivering a first-class customer experience. In designing the Trailblazer Z71 we listened to our customers’ feedback, responding with a premium sporty American SUV to meet their needs.”
Unakul added, “Consumers like a vehicle that sets them apart and complements their personality. Owning a premium vehicle speaks highly of an individual’s personal brand. The Trailblazer Z71 is a fearless premium SUV. From its superior levels of refinement, styling, comfort, and technology, to its class-leading performance and drivability, the Trailblazer Z71 provides a completely unique experience.”
The Chevrolet Trailblazer Z71 will be powered by a 2.5-liter Duramax four-cylinder diesel with Variable Geometry Turbocharger, which is both better in terms of output and efficiency and improved with regards to its noise, vibration, and harshness levels. Other distinctive features include a hood adorned with matte black stickers, 18-inch sport alloy wheels, a reconfigured interior layout with embroidered logos, and safety features like Side Blind Zone Alert and Forward Collision Alert.
Despite the promise that the Trailblazer Z71 represents a sporty American SUV, it is not likely to make an appearance in the United States. Bummer, dudes.
