You can visit Chevrolet.com and use the Charging Page to locate certified car charger installers. You can also use the page to provide details on your house, get quotes, and contact installers. After all, the perceived difficulty of charging an EV could scare some drivers away from switching.

Kelly Helfrich, manager of the GM EV infrastructure, has high hopes for the program. “We’re excited that our Chevrolet Bolt EV owners can now enjoy the ease and accessibility of at-home charging. This is an important step forward on our journey toward a world with zero emissions.”

Three levels of charging

120-volt portable charge cord: With this handy charger, you can juice up your Bolt EV anywhere there’s a three-prong outlet. Your Bolt EV will get about 4 miles per each hour it charges. After a 12-hour charge, you’ll have about 48 miles of range — which is equivalent to the average commute. This charger

240-volt/32-amp charging unit: This peppy charger gives you 25 miles per hour of charge. It’s the fastest and most convenient way to charge your car at home, but it requires professional installation. This installation is what the Chevrolet.com charging page is meant to simplify.

DC Fast Charging: These chargers, found at public charging stations, can fuel your Bolt EV with 90 miles of range in 30 minutes. They require your vehicle to have a DC Fast Charging port, and costs vary per station.
