Buick’s August sales in the United States were up 0.6% with 22,281 vehicles sold. As has been the case for the first three-quarters of 2015, the brand was held aloft by strong sales for its SUV duo, the Enclave and Encore.
The Encore experienced its 20th consecutive month of year-over-year sales increases, growing its August 2014 total by 29% with 6,286 units sold. The Encore has been on a roll for the entirety of 2015, and after eight months, it stands firm as Buick’s volume leader with 43,661 units sold, a 34% year-over-year increase.
Not to be outdone, the Enclave was up 27.4% with 7,389 units sold. Sales of the Enclave are consistent with sales from 2014, with the running total standing at 42,053 units through eight months.
The LaCrosse experienced a small uptick in sales, climbing from 4,454 sales in August 2014 to 4,508 last month. The Regal and Verano remained down with sales of 1,450 units and 2,648 units, respectively, continuing an industry-wide trend of decreased interest in sedans.
Another sold month from Buick brings the brand within 4,000 sales of equaling its total through August of last year. At present, 149,386 Buicks have been sold in the United States in 2015.
