European Kia Optima GT Leaked Before Frankfurt Debut
Kia introduced the next-generation Kia Optima for the North American market in April at the New York Auto Show. The new Optima’s North American debut was quickly followed up with its debut in South Korean (where it’s known as the K5). Now, the new Optima is about to debut in Europe—and we have a glimpse of its styling.
Leaked official photos were recently discovered, showing us the European Optima’s design. A more aggressive body style adds a bit of intimidation to the sedan. The new design has a rear diffuser, oval-shaped exhaust pipes, dark door sills, and GT badges, though it’s not part of the GT Line.
The GT looks as if it is the equivalent trim level to the North American Optima SX, boasting a similar aero kit to the North American model. While there is no information out there about the European unit’s powertrain, it’s possible that it will have a similar 2.0-liter GDI Turbo four-cylinder gasoline engine as the Optima SX.
The European Kia Optima model will officially debut next month at the Frankfurt Motor Show in Germany. Personally, we can’t wait to see what the front end of this sassy sedan has to offer European consumers.
