This week at the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA, formerly Chrysler Group) is showing off four new services for its Uconnect Access, which is a suite of in-vehicle services to enhance the driving experience. Joining the lineup are the following: a Monthly Vehicle Health Report, Send Destination to Vehicle, Vehicle Finder, and Vehicle Health. FCA’s Uconnect has also updated the smartphone app for Uconnect Access.
“The Uconnect team is dedicated to delivering services and features that are innovative, functional and most of all easy to use,” explained Al Amici, who is the head of Global Uconnect System and Services. “We understand that our customers lead busy lifestyles and our goal is to minimize the everyday stresses by providing drivers with a variety of ways to stay conveniently connected to their vehicle.”
The Monthly Vehicle Heath Report comes—you guessed it—once a month in the form of an email, showing the driver the status of the most important systems within the vehicle. The service also indicates how to take care of any systems that are experiencing issues. Supplementing this service is the Vehicle Health Alert, which sends out an immediate email if a key component in the powertrain, brakes, suspension, oil and fluids, or the safety systems needs to be addressed.
Send Destination to Vehicle is accessed on the touchscreen and allows drivers to browse for destinations in the area, then receive navigation to those destinations. Vehicle Finder is used via the smartphone app and can pull up the precise location of a user’s vehicle in a parking lot.
