It’s official: the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles headquarters will be stationed in London, England, just a short walk from Buckingham Palace. The UK was chosen by CEO, Sergio Marchionne, because it is neutral territory for the merging companies, Chrysler Group LLC and Fiat SpA. Chrysler Group, of course, is based out of Auburn Hills, Michigan, here in the States, while Fiat has its roots in Italy. The UK is a safe middle ground for the two as they prepare for their upcoming merger.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will lease three floors in London’s West End business district, the most expensive business district in the world. The office is located on St. James’ street and will also support CNH Industrial NV offices. NV is a spin-off brand of Fiat that was formed back in 2011.

Necessary employees will be moved before the end of the year. The official merger will take place on October 13.
