Fiat Chrysler will now offer Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on select 2017 models

Connective technology is becoming one of the leading features car buyers look for when shopping for some new wheels. When you can stay connected out on the road, life just seems easier. That’s why Fiat Chrysler’s newest announcement is a big one.

The Italian-American carmaker announced earlier this week at the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) that its newest Uconnect infotainment system—which is one of the leading systems in the industry—will now offer Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. These new technologies will take the Uconnect system to an entirely new level of connectivity.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto both integrate iPhones and Android phones with the Uconnect system, allowing drivers to make phone calls and send music. They can even send and receive messages without taking their hands off the wheel.

Along with offering Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the fourth-generation Uconnect system will also have a few other upgrades. These include capacitive touchscreens, which makes for easier use, better touchscreen resolution and response, a greater processing power, and faster start up. All of these updates will be available on 2017 models, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto being offered with the 8.4-inch touchscreen and other select systems.

With these new features, the Uconnect infotainment system might be the best in the business. It’s possible you won’t ever feel disconnected, even when you’re out on the road.
