First 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Rumored for Scottsdale Auction
We’re in the home stretch now, less than one month away from the official premiere of the 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 at the 2019 North American International Auto Show. The Drive is reporting that the first 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 off the line will then be put up on the block shortly thereafter at January’s Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction. The funds raised from the VIN 001 Shelby GT500 will benefit longtime charity partner JDRF.
This would mark yet another significant Ford Performance vehicle being auctioned off for charity in Scottsdale. This past January, Ford auctioned a rare Liquid Blue Ford GT and VIN 001 of its limited-edition Mustang Bullitt for a combined total of $2.85 million; money from the former benefited the Autism Society of North Carolina’s IGNITE program and the Autism Alliance of Michigan, and money from the latter benefited Boys Republic.
In 2015, the first 2016 Shelby GT350 Mustang sold for $1 million in Scottsdale.

If you’re the sort who just can’t wait four more weeks to feast your eyes, then you’ll be happy to know that there’s a leaked image floating around on social media that you can check out. The image appears to have been taken in October, presumably at the same Las Vegas dealer meeting that resulted in a leaked photo of the suicide-doored Lincoln Continental Coach Door Edition, which was officially revealed on Monday.
If you insist on being the kind who snoops around in their grandmother’s closets to find unwrapped Christmas gifts in December, then scroll on down and get a look at what you can expect with the 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. If you’re the patient sort, first, good on you. Second, stay tuned for the official reveal of the new Shelby GT500 on Jan. 14; there are sure to be plenty of nice, high-quality photos.
Last chance.
Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
