The Jeep Gladiator pickup truck is one of the year’s most highly anticipated models. Now, Jeep’s latest vehicle is one step closer to arriving on dealership lots.

The first production-model Jeep Gladiator just rolled off the assembly line.

The Gladiator Enters the Arena: 2020 Jeep Gladiator offers unbeatable versatility

The Gladiator in question is a Rubicon model bearing a Billet Silver color scheme. It was assembled at Fiat Chrysler’s plant in Toledo, Ohio.

Production is expected to ramp up very quickly, as the Gladiator has a rumored release date of June. Jeep will also need to match demand for this vehicle, as customers are already chomping at the bit for this Jeep-based pickup.

The Gladiator comes standard with 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine, which helps it tow up to 7,650 pounds. This V6 engine also generates up to 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Down the line, Jeep will add a more efficient 3.0-liter EcoDiesel engine to the Gladiator’s powertrain lineup.

The Gladiator will also come packaged with plenty of advanced features. Drivers can select either a 7.0-inch touch screen or an 8.4-inch option, which comes equipped with the Uconnect interface. The truck also has access to more than 80 available safety features, like Adaptive Cruise Control.

One aspect of the Jeep Gladiator that is currently unknown is the vehicle’s price. With truck prices on the rise, the Jeep Gladiator’s asking price could easily exceed that of any other Jeep model. Of course, Jeep enthusiasts who have been waiting years for another Jeep pickup truck will likely be willing to pay nearly any sticker price for the Jeep Gladiator when it hits the market later this year.
