Ford Adds Ministry of Sound, Two Other Apps to SYNC with AppLink

Ford SYNC with AppLink Wetter.de n-tv Ministry of Sound

Ford Motor Company announced during this week’s Web Summit in Dublin that it is adding Ministry of Sound and two new apps to Ford SYNC with AppLink. Ministry of Sound, a streaming music service, will be controllable via voice commands, as will weather app Wetter.de and news app n-tv.

“By working with the developer community to create the auto industry’s only app developer program, Ford is now able to deliver unique voice controlled in-car experiences for our customers, from listening to the latest dance music to receiving breaking news, weather and social media updates,” said Don Butler, executive director, Connected Vehicle and Services, Ford Motor Company.

At the show, Ford enabled visitors to virtually experience using Ministry of Sound in a Ford vehicle with the help of Oculus Rift.

Ford’s SYNC-capable European models support voice-activation for smartphone apps up to and including ADAC, Audioteka, AUPEO!, Cityseeker by Wcities, Cyclops, DetektorFM , DIE WELT, Eventseeker by Wcities, Glympse, Goal Live Scores, Radioplayer, Roald Dahl Audiobooks, Soundtracker, and Spotify.
