In an effort to expedite the adoption of electrified vehicles and pave a path for fully electric vehicles to thrive on the market, Ford and Centrica are teaming up to offer charging installations and energy tariffs to customers in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Announced at the end of July, the partnership will have Centrica offering customers home charging station installation and EV tariffs via British Gas in the U.K. and Bord Gáis Energy in Ireland. Charging installation service is also being offered for Ford dealerships in both. The objective is to help customers safe money and charge their vehicles more conveniently while making the prospect of upgrading to an electrified vehicle more appealing for future buyers.

“Ford is committed to delivering one of the most comprehensive line-ups of electrified vehicles for our customers, powered through the Ford home charger Wall Boxes, said Andy Barratt, managing director, Ford of Britain. “With their scale, experience, and access to the electric grid, our partnership with Centrica will enable us to offer a one-stop shop for our customers as they transition to an electrified vehicle, including exciting new vehicle options, wall box, installation service, and electricity tariff.”

Ford intends to offer an electrified option for every vehicle in its lineup, from mild hybrids to fully electric vehicles. Among the products in the offing globally are a new Mustang-inspired electric performance crossover that’s slated to launch late next year; a new as-yet undisclosed electric vehicle built on Volkswagen’s MEB platform and slated for launch in Europe in 2023; and hybrid variants of the Mustang, F-150, and Bronco.
