Ford announces three VP retirements (from left to right): Joe Bakaj, Bill Russo, and Kenneth Kent

Ford Motor Company has announced the retirement of three vice presidents, all effective at the end of 2018. Ford of Europe Vice President of Product Development Joe Bakaj, Ford of Asia Pacific Vice President of Manufacturing Bill Russo, and Ford Vice President and Treasurer Kenneth R. Kent will all be calling their careers with Ford before 2019 begins.

“All three of these leaders have given decades of distinguished service to Ford around the world,” said Jim Hackett, Ford president and CEO. “Each has brought unique perspectives, deep expertise, and integrity in helping Ford grow and prosper over many years. We are grateful for their service and wish them the best in the future.”

Bakaj has been a member of Ford product development for more than 30 years, climbing to his most current role in November 2013. In his capacity as VP of Product Development, Bakaj oversaw an extensive refresh of Ford of Europe’s product portfolio, leading to the establishment of the Ford Transit as the continent’s top-selling commercial vehicle.

Bakaj will be succeeded by Joerg Beyer, the current executive engineering director for Ford of Europe, who becomes the executive director of Product Development effective Bakaj’s departure. Beyer has 28 years’ experience in product development with Ford.

Russo has served in his current role since January 2016, having joined Ford in May 2001 as the director of vehicle operations for Manufacturing Engineering for the Americas. His replacement will be announced at a later date.

Kent has been Ford’s treasurer and a vice president since August 2017 and previously served as the vice chairman and CFO of Ford Credit. He will be replaced by assistant treasurer David Webb, who has been with Ford since 2003.
