Ford Canadian Sales Reach Record Highs in September

Ford posted its best September ever in Canada in terms of both F-Series and overall sales. Ford Motor Company of Canada delivered 28,215 vehicles in September, up 3.9% year-over-year and good for the company’s best September ever. Ford car sales were down 3.9% at 4,651 units sold, and trucks were up 5.6% with 23,564 units sold. Lincoln sales were up 47%, good for the brand’s best September since 2010.

“We had a tremendous close to the third quarter with Ford Employee Pricing driving the best month of September on record for both F-Series and overall sales,” said Dianne Craig, president and CEO, Ford of Canada. “We are proud to see positive consumer reaction to our vehicle lineup and we remain focused on delivering high quality, innovative products with a superb customer experience.”

Despite the drop in year-over-year car sales, sales of the Focus improved 12% and Mustang sales grew 45% for the seventh month in a row.

Ford’s crossovers and SUVs were up 5% overall thanks to an 11% increase in sales for Edge and 29% increase for Explorer. F-Series sales were up 1%, an increase good for its best September ever.

Lincoln sales rose thanks to strong sales for stalwarts like the MKS, MKX, and Navigator. Lincoln delivered 965 vehicles in September, not only good for its best September since 2010, but also the brand’s best sales month since June 2010.
