Greg Biffle’s recent win gives Ford 1000 NASCAR wins in the Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series combined.

Over a hundred years ago, Henry Ford built a race car in the wake of unhappy investors. The car drove at 72 mph, an astounding speed for a car of its time.  Ford entered the car, named Sweepstakes, in a 10 lap race at the Detroit Driving Club in Grosse Point, Michigan. Little did they know that one day, a racer named Greg Biffle would round the final lap to give Ford 1000 NASCAR wins.

Sweepstakes won, and investors quickly jumped back on the Ford train, putting Henry Ford back in business.

Fast forward to the present; Jack Roush, owner of the Roush-Fenway Ford Racing Team, says his team was trying their hardest for the win at the Sprint Cup Series at the Michigan International Speedway.

And they did just that, capturing the 1000th win for Ford this past Sunday. In the final laps of the race, Greg Biffle, a team member, led the way, capturing his 19th career win.

“I have been with Ford Motor Company and they have been supporting me for almost 50 years now,” said Roush in an interview. “We expect to be our best when we come to MIS and I am glad we could pull it off and give Ford their 1,000th win,” added Roush.

With this win Ford’s 1000th across all of NASCAR’s national series races, Roush’s team definitely gave Ford something to celebrate.
