It’s apparent that UK auto enthusiasts were enthralled with the news that Ford would be exporting the Ford Mustang to the Kingdom in right-hand-drive configurations for the first time in 50 years. The fact that almost 2,000 orders have been taken since January would be more evidence to that point, and it’s interesting to note the kind of Mustang UK shoppers tend to favor.

According to preliminary sales figures, 80% of all Mustangs being ordered by UK customers are fastbacks, and 70% are powered by the 5.0-liter V8 found in the Mustang GT. For the most part, drivers seem split in terms of transmission, with 55% favoring the six-speed manual and 45% preferring the six-speed automatic with SelectShift.
As evidenced by a study released earlier this year, Race Red is the most popular color, followed by Magnetic Silver, Shadow Black, Deep Impact Blue, and Triple Yellow. Three-quarters of all Mustangs ordered have been fitted with Ebony Black interiors, and more than half of all Mustangs come with the Custom Pack that includes sat-nav, Shaker Pro 12-speaker audio, rearview camera, and heated and cooled front seats.
