The 2016 Ford Fiesta is a cool car. Really, for as subjective as something so vague as cool factor can be, the coolness of the Fiesta is quite apparent. It is particularly apparent if one considers the Fiesta’s multiple inclusions on Kelley Blue Book’s “Top 10 Coolest New Cars Under $18,000.” Well, guess what. The Fiesta is now ranked as one of KBB’s coolest new cars for the sixth time in seven years. That’s cooler than being cool. That’s ice cold.

“Cool sure has come a long way,” says Jack Nerad, executive editorial director and executive market analyst for Kelley Blue Book. “Our annual Coolest New Cars Under $18,000 is one of Kelley Blue Book’s longest-running lists, and it’s incredible to see all of the amazing tech features and amenities you can get on an affordable car these days compared to a decade ago.”
The Fiesta’s $14,090 starting price certainly makes it cool for those who want the amenities a new car provides without having to pay a mint for them. Those looking for performance will no doubt find the Fiesta to be of particular coolness thanks to the Fiesta ST trim, which takes the Fiesta’s already-impressive performance and handling and ratchets it up to 11.
Apart from the sub-$18,000 price-point, KBB determines its top 10 based on the qualities of being fun to drive and fun to own. Are either of those qualities scientifically-formulated? Shhh. Don’t you worry about that.
The 2016 Fiesta was also named one of KBB’s 10 Best Back-to-School Cars late last year.
Ford has sold the Fiesta in North America since 2010 and the Fiesta ST since 2013. In that time, the Fiesta has racked up a cool 285,000 sales, meaning that consumer response has been anything but frigid. Ice to see you. Take a chill pill.
