Ford debuted the Fiesta ST200 last month as part of the company’s celebration of 40 years for the Fiesta nameplate. The Fiesta ST200 is an even more amped up version of the popular Fiesta ST hot hatch, delivering 10% more power and 20% more torque and capable of running a 6.7-second 0-62 mph.

Production and deliveries of the Ford Fiesta ST200, which originally broke cover in March at Geneva, are already underway. It is available with the 1.6-liter EcoBoost recalibrated to generate 200 horsepower and 214 lb-ft of torque and a shorter final drive ratio of 4.06.

“The Fiesta ST is truly beloved by owners and critics. The ST200 takes this special drivers’ car to a new level of power and performance,” said Joe Bakaj, vice president, Product Development, Ford of Europe. “We think it’s a future classic in the making.”

The Fiesta ST200 also uses Enhanced Torque Vectoring Control and three-mode Electronic Stability Control for enhanced driving dynamics. It sits lower to the ground and features upgraded suspension components and Electronic Power Assisted Steering for more thrills. Basically, it’s everything people love about the Fiesta ST, only better.

“The Fiesta ST has been a hit with performance drivers because of its go-kart-like handling and powerful engine,” said Darren Palmer, small car vehicle line director, Ford of Europe. “The revised Fiesta ST200 chassis enhances composure and control, and improves passenger comfort as well.”

With any luck, the Fiesta ST200 will be a big enough hit that it finds its way stateside. Wouldn’t that be a peach? Still, we wouldn’t get our hopes up.
