Ford Unveils Aggressive Ranger Wildtrak Variant
Ford today unveiled its Ranger Wildtrak pickup truck, geared primarily at off-road use and appealing to customers with a taste for something just a bit more aggressive than the norm. Tragically, it’s not coming to America (just like the regular Ranger), because we can’t have nice thing sometimes, but there’s plenty enough reason to be happy for the folks who will get it.
The Ranger Wildtrak sports liquid metallic gray elements in the grille, side mirrors, door handles, side air vents, bed rails, and tail lamps. It also gets rectangular fog lamps 18-inch alloy wheels and comes in five colors: Cool White, Black Mica, Aluminum Metallic, Metropolitan Grey, and Pride Orange.

“We wanted to push the Wildtrak’s orange further, to give it a fun, tough feeling,” said Dewitt. “We call it Pride Orange, not just because of our pride in the new Ranger, but also because it calls to mind a pride of lions—it conjures up the Wildtrak’s potential and adventurous spirit.”
The Wildtrak will also feature cutting-edge technology including SYNC 2, Lane Keeping Alert and Lane Keeping Aid, Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Alert, Front and Rear Park Assist, Tire Pressure Monitoring System, Electronic Stability Program, Driver Impairment Monitor, Emergency Assistance, Hill Launch Assist, Hill Descent Control, and Emergency Brake Assist.
The Wildtrak will be particularly adept at off-roading thanks to more than nine inches of ground clearance, an electronically-controlled transfer case that allows for easy transitioning between 4×2 and 4×4, and the 3.2-liter Duratorq five-cylinder TDCi diesel engine (or the optional 2.2-liter Duratorq four-cylinder TDCi diesel).
