GM Canada Delivers 22,547 Vehicles in August

General Motors August 2016 sales

General Motors moved a total of 22,547 vehicles in Canada last month, an 8.5% decrease from a total of 24,653 vehicles delivered in August 2015. Through eight months, GM Canada’s sales are down 0.4% at 174,004 vehicles sold to-date.

“While August was a slower vehicle sales month across Canada, we demonstrated industry leadership and remain focused on product excellence and our strong retail strategy across our brands,” John Roth, vice president, sales, service and marketing for GM Canada.

Chevrolet sales were down 7.9% at 12,751 units. Sales of the Camaro were up 8.8%, sales of the Colorado were up 34%, sales of the Corvette were up 1.9%, sales of the Impala were up 38.5%, sales of the Spark were up 196.9%, and sales of the Volt were up 152.1%.

Buick sales were up 27.5% at 1,667 units. Envision sales totaled 142 units, Encore sales were up 22.2% at 496 units, Regal sales were up 300% at 136 units, Verano sales were up 44.6% at 707 units, LaCrosse sales were down 84.2% at 24 units, and Enclave sales were down 28.6% at 162 units.

Cadillac sales were down 6.5% at 1,160 units. Sales of the CT6 totaled 32 units; sales of the XT5 totaled 349 units; sales of the CTS totaled 141 units, up 271%; sales of the Escalade ESV totaled 137 units, up 260.5%; sales of the ATS totaled 210 units, down 47.6%; sales of the Escalade totaled 98 units, down 11.7%; sales of the SRX totaled 149 units, down 73.4%; and sales of the XTS totaled 35 units, down 52.7%.

GMC sales were down 15.6% at 6,969 units. Canyon sales were up 17.4%, Yukon sales were up 64.9%, and Yukon XL sales were up 4.2%.
