The Chevrolet Traverse and Chevrolet Colorado are undeniably sales successes in the U.S. Now, Chevrolet is planning to see how the two vehicles perform in a far different automotive market.

The Chevrolet Traverse and Chevrolet Colorado are reportedly being added to South Korea’s Chevrolet lineup.

Introducing the Chevrolet Colorado to the South Korean market would be a big change for the automotive scene there: it would be the first mid-size GM truck to be sold in South Korea.

Still, South Korean drivers won’t have as many options when it comes to customizing their Colorado models. The Colorado will only be sold in the Crew Cab and Short-Box configurations.

Drivers won’t be left wanting for power, though. The South Korean Colorado will make use of a 3.6-liter LGZ V6 engine, capable of producing up to 312 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque.

Meanwhile, the South Korean version of the Traverse will use a 3.6-liter LFY V6. The Traverse’s overall power output will be similar to that of the Colorado, generating 310 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque.

Similarly to trends in the U.S., South Korean drivers are beginning to gravitate toward SUVs and crossovers. The introduction of the Traverse will help diversify Chevrolet’s Korean SUV lineup.

“The Traverse and Colorado will play very strategic roles in Chevrolet Korea’s product lineup,” stated President and CEO of GM Korea, Kaher Kazem. “They will take us into new segments where we have never competed and will reach out to a new group of customers for the brand.”

Both models are set to arrive in South Korea during the second half of 2019. As their release dates approach, GM will share more info about their pricing and trim levels.
