GMC Offers Sierra Discount for January

Decrease Font Size Increase Font Size Text Size Print This Page

January might be halfway over, but it’s not too late to take advantage of significant deals on the GMC Sierra. The automaker is offering a 19-percent discount on 2018 Sierra 1500 models to help make room for new 2019 model inventory. Per GM Authority, this price reduction can shave off more than $10K from the total cost of the truck in some cases.

Like with any deal, there are some restrictions, of course. Similar to GMC’s deal on Acadias for this month, the Sierra discount only applies to the oldest 20 percent of select 2018 GMC Sierra 1500 Crew Cab models in a given dealership’s inventory. In other words, the model must be considered one of the K2 platform, last-generation units of the Sierra 1500 (which excludes the 2019 model year version).

To illustrate the savings, GMC provides a purchasing scenario on its website. For example, a 2018 Sierra 1500 SLT Crew Cab with the SLT Premium Plus Package would come with a $3,424 price reduction and $7,311 purchase allowance. This translates to a total of $10,735 off the truck’s MSRP, as long as the consumer uses GM Financial to help fund the purchase.

Used Advantages: Reasons to choose an older vehicle model

While some GMC fans might still prefer the 2019 model year to last year’s version, this January discount is a great deal for those who don’t mind a slightly older model of this truck. Here are just some of the cool amenities that the 2018 Sierra 1500 possesses.

2018 GMC Sierra 1500 features

  • Exterior color options: Cardinal Red, Quicksilver Metallic, Onyx Black, Dark Slate Metallic, White Frost Tricoat, Summit White, Deep Mahogany Metallic, Stone Blue Metallic, and Red Quartz Tintcoat.
  • Available exterior amenities include a locking tailgate, cargo box LED lighting, a power rear-sliding window with defogger, and chrome rectangular assist steps.
  • Versatile engine options, ranging from the efficient 4.3-liter EcoTec3 V6 (that yields 24 mpg on the highway) to the 6.2-liter V8 engine (that cranks out 420 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque).
  • Available cabin perks include 8-inch diagonal color touch screen with navigation, heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated seating, and Bose sound system.
