2018 marked the most successful year to date for the Henry Ford Entrepreneurship Academy in the Middle East. Over the course of 12 months, six cities over three countries hosted a total of 300 entrepreneurs for vital training that will help the region further foster creativity and invention.

In the United Arab Emirates, the first-ever Henry Ford Entrepreneurship Academy Future Transportation and Mobility workshop provided a specific focus on the development on cutting-edge ideas through mentorship and guidance. Abdulla Al Ali won the HFEA Future Transportation and Mobility challenge with a pitch for a traffic-predicting software platform, earning a consultancy from an American startup strategy firm.

Prior to the Future Transportation and Mobility workshop, Dubai also hosted a workshop, “The Entrepreneurship Journey,” at Youth Hub’s Emirates Towers location. HFEA also held events at Ras Al Khaimah and in Abu Dhabi as part of its partnership with the Higher Colleges of Technology. For the year, HFEA assisted 130 UAE entrepreneurs.

In Saudi Arabia, the Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University in Riyadh and Effat University in Jeddah hosted HFEA workshops aimed at female entrepreneurs. More than 70 women took part in the workshops, learning about how to cultivate their ambitions and grow a successful enterprise. In Morocco, 80 students from the University of Hassan II in Casablanca took part in two separate three-day workshops.
