Following the return of the Henry Ford Entrepreneurship Academy (HFEA) to Effat University in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from May 1st to 3rd, Ford brought its workshop to the Higher Colleges of Technology’s Ras Al Khaimah Men’s campus in the United Arab Emirates from May 6th to 8th. This latest entry in the HFEA program marks the first time that it has visited the northern Emirate.

The Henry Ford Entrepreneurship Academy was launched in November 2017 for the UAE as part of a partnership with the Higher Colleges of Technology’s Sharjah campus. The expansion of small and medium enterprises in the UAE—up 10% since 2016—and the fact that such enterprises make up an estimated 95% of all businesses in the country are the motivating factors in the program’s conception and expansion.

“Workshops like this Henry Ford Entrepreneurship Academy, that provide an environment for aspiring businesspeople to experiment with their ideas in direct exchange with mentors and coaches, offer invaluable experience,” said Simonetta Verdi, Director, Government and Community Relations, Ford Middle East and Africa. “Importantly, this unique program also provides an opportunity to learn from people who have successfully navigated the entrepreneurship journey, and that can help build the courage they need to take on the business world with their own budding venture.”

The three-day workshop was entitled “The Entrepreneurship Journey” and featured guest speakers and businesspeople guiding attendees through the perceived three steps of the Entrepreneurship Journey: Human Story, Mindset, and Set of Activities.
