Cadillac has announced pricing levels for the 2020 CT6 sedan — and they’re significantly higher than they were for the 2019 model.

The entry-level Luxury trim will start at $59,990, an $8,500 increase from 2019. For the new model year, this trim will offer the previously optional Driver Awareness and Convenience Package as standard, boosting the price by about $3,500. This package offers automatic emergency braking, blind-spot detection, and a variety of other advanced active-safety technologies.

The rest of the increase comes because the CT6’s base engine is now a larger 3.6-liter V6 instead of the discontinued 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder.

In the middle, there’s the Premium Luxury trim, which begins at $75,490, a $12,000 jump from the previous year. Newly standard on this model are the Rear Seat Package, the Comfort and Technology Package, Super Cruise semi-autonomous tech, and a 34-speaker Bose Panaray audio system.

When all these extra optional-turned-standard features are taken into account, the 2020 model is actually a few thousand dollars cheaper than the 2019 version.

At the top of the heap is the Platinum trim of the 2020 Cadillac CT6, which will cost $97,490, about $700 more than last year’s model. The CT6 Platinum comes equipped with Cadillac’s 4.2-liter twin-turbocharged V8 Blackwing engine. It’s also outfitted with newly standard 20-inch wheels.

The survival of the Cadillac CT6 into a new model year wasn’t always assured. Last year, Cadillac indicated that it would phase out the luxury sedan, then changed its tune and said it would continue to produce and sell the model in the U.S. Beyond 2020, the long-term future for the CT6 still isn’t clear.

For now, though, interested customers will have at least one more model year to take advantage of the CT6’s presence at American dealerships.
