Ford Truck Weekend in America

Nov. 11 marks a century since the Armistice brought an end to World War I, a war in which more than 116,000 Americans lost their lives. The History Channel will be celebrating the momentous and important occasion with a three-hour block of programming dedicated to the history of Ford trucks.

The History Channel’s Truck Weekend in America is a six-hour primetime event stretching from Saturday to Sunday that looks at the 100-year history of Ford Trucks. Programs being aired on Sunday night — Armistice Day — include “Truck Night in America,” which celebrates “toughness and craftsmanship with everyday people who truly love their trucks and push them to the maximum level in the most grueling challenges”; “American Restoration: Truck Edition,” which is about restoring a 1956 Ford truck; “Trucks Transformed: Custom Culture,” which features Ford luminaries Ken Block and Vaughn Gittin Jr.; and “Rescue Trucks,” which talks about first responders who drive custom trucks.

Wew, lad.

“‘Truck Weekend in America’ breaks with the traditional media mold with a programming event built on stories that are steeped in history, with an eye to the future,” said Paul Buccieri, president, A+E Networks Group, presumably without irony. “From the latest truck technology to vintage vehicles to totally unique modifications and everything in between, this outstanding collaboration delivers a weekend full of nonstop content, the likes of which truck lovers have never seen before.”

Truck Weekend in America’s Saturday programming includes another episode of “Truck Night in America,” “Truck Hunters,” and “Born Tough: Inside the Ford Factory.” Scintillating stuff! Be there or be square, y’all.
