Honda revealed two “Adventure Lifestyle Project” vehicles at the 2019 Overland Expo West in Flagstaff, Arizona: modified variants of the Passport crossover and Ridgeline pickup truck aimed at an overlanding crowd — those who like to go on long journeys over unpaved terrain.
The Passport Adventure Lifestyle features the same powertrain as the regular model — a 3.5-liter V6 making 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque, a nine-speed automatic, and an all-wheel-drive system with torque vectoring — but also comes with several cool modifications to help boost its off-roading capability.
To start is a Jsport lift kit that adds extra ground clearance (1.5 inches at the front and 0.75 inches at the rear), as well as a skid plate to protect the chassis from terrain the Passport can’t clear cleanly. It also gets Nitto RidgeGrappler off-road tires, Jsport KMC XD wheels, and a full-sized spare tire mounted at the rear.

If you need a pickup bed when going off road, there’s always the Ridgeline Black Edition. It gets a Mesa bed rack for even more utility, a Roofnest rooftop tent, Honda’s own lightweight EU2200i generator, a mild suspension leveling kit, and, like the Passport, a whole set of off-road wheels and tires, plus skid plates for added protection.
Honda showcased these models alongside other cool road-going machines like the all-new Honda Talon high-performance dirt bike and power equipment like the aforementioned generator and water pumps. You can read all about it by heading over to the official Honda website, linked below.
