The Chinese joint venture company of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and GAC, known as GAC Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, will begin the production of the Jeep Cherokee before the end of this year. There will also be an additional two new Jeep brand models built in China by the end of 2016. FCA will also continue to expand its presence in China with a new Chrysler brand product, which will also be produced locally.

Jeep is planning on presenting an entire SUV product portfolio in China by 2018. Along with this new Jeep lineup, the GAC Fiat Chrysler Automobiles venture plans on becoming a new, wholly owned sales company by 2016, producing eight competitive vehicles in China by 2018.

The announcement of China production for the Jeep Cherokee comes on the heels of another global announcement, which stated that a new Jeep model will arrive in India in 2017.

With this type of global expansion, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Jeep take over the world sometime soon.
