At this year’s Geneva Motor Show, Chrysler Group unveiled the stunning Jeep Renegade, a subcompact SUV that is sure to shake up the market. The groundbreaking Jeep Renegade launches in Italy later this month into a fierce segment that is the fastest growing in the industry. In fact, according to Automotive News, the segment is expected to hit 2 million sales globally this year.

The Renegade marks the first time that Fiat and Chrysler have collaborated completely on a vehicle, as part of the newly formed Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA). Previously, FCA had collaborated on the Dodge Dart and the Lancia Thema, but the Renegade was the first model to be built from the ground up under the new company.
“It’s the first example of cross-country collaboration,” CEO, Sergio Marchionne, explained to reporters yesterday. “It’s great to see. The damn thing works.”
Jeep CEO, Mike Manley, is excited to target this competitive and important segment of the market. Manley stated, “This [Renegade] is exactly the right vehicle to capture this growing market.” Manley also announced that Jeep is on track to sell 1 million vehicles this year; the Renegade is expected to help Jeep achieve even higher sales goals next year.
After the Jeep Renegade launches this month in Italy, it will be on track to launch in other European markets in November. Americans and drivers from other markets, like China, will have to wait until the first quarter of 2015.
