Kia Cadenza Stars in New Commercial with Christina Hendricks and Earns Top Safety Ratings
Safety ratings for the 2017 Kia Cadenza are in and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has awarded the sedan with the highest rating possible. The Cadenza earned the Top Safety Pick Plus (TSP+) rating, when equipped with its LED headlights and the optional front crash prevention system (Forward Collision Warning).

“The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety is one of the most respected organizations in the industry when it comes to evaluating vehicle safety, and this designation is a great achievement that speaks to Kia’s commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement,” said Orth Hedrick, vice president, product planning, KMA. “We are proud that the Cadenza received across-the-board good crashworthiness ratings, which is another testament to the efforts of our engineers and the integrity of our vehicles.”
For a vehicle to be considered for the top rating, it must earn a collection of ratings ranging from “acceptable” to “superior” and “advanced” among many categories. Some of the crash tests include side impact, roof strength, and head restraints. Other safety tests that are administered include crash prevention and headlight rating.

The Cadenza has also been in the news for its newest television commercial, starring red-headed bombshell Christina Hendricks. In the commercial, Hendricks exits a lavish building with multiple drivers waiting anxiously next to various luxury vehicles (Audi, Lexus, and BMW). Ultimately, the star walks past all of them and decides to drive herself, in the 2017 Kia Cadenza, leaving all of the drivers puzzled.
